Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. With a deep-rooted love for family law, Ashley's current legal practice focuses on various aspects of family-related matters. She focuses her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes, marital property division, child custody battles and child support arrangements. She also deals with post-divorce and enforcement matters such as step-parent adoptions and private adoptions for parties as and concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley has served a court-appointed mediator since 2019 helping parties to help them resolve their matters without needing to litigate or court involvement. Ashley mediates private disputes as well as court-appointed mediation for individuals who want to avoid court proceedings and litigation.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. Then, she pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. In 2013, she graduated, and excelled in her studies, placing among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was a Note Editor at the Western New England Law Review during her time at law school. This was a sign of her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

Ashley began her clerkship path after completing her law degree. She worked for distinguished jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She had the honor of being a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned to her home town of Hagerstown to work as a clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long at the Washington County Circuit Court, further enhancing her knowledge of the local legal landscape. Learn more about Ashley Wilburn

Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her main focus at the firm was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters pertaining to child welfare. Ashley's devoted efforts played a significant role in helping children who were victims of neglect or abuse at children's parents or caregivers. Her dedication to fighting social injustice transcended her legal career as she served as a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to increase awareness about human trafficking in the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law including divorce, child support, custody, and guardianships - as well in estate planning - wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxies and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. She has a an intention to provide a personalized approach to every client's needs.
